Upcoming  Events Of 2008

 

 MARCH 31st -- Full Track Day at VIR.  Arrive pretty early in the morning (gates open 7am, grid tech inspection from 7-8am, mandatory drivers meeting at 8am), have some coffee, then drive, drive, drive!  There will be instructors at this event.  Pre-register by Tuesday, March 4th, and pay only $295 per person for members of the Ferrari Club of America ($345 for non-members) and $90 for each co-driver.  After March 4th, add $50 for each registration and $35 for every co-driver.  You may also register and pay for this event online at www.fca-se.com/cc.  Questions?  Contact Ronnie Rumple at rrumple@foreigncarsitalia.com or phone 336-392-8470. 

APRIL 18-20th -- Ferrari 430 Challenge and Ferrari Historic Challenge come together at Road Atlanta.  FCA-SE members will have special opportunities and amenities, and we are working with FNA to arrange some track time for us when the Challenge cars are not running.  For details contact Ronnie Rumple at rrrumple@phoneforeigncarsitalia.com or phone 336-392-8470.

 MAY 16-18 -- The Ultimate Track Weekend on the South Course.  There will be a Friday evening registration party held at the Oak Tree Tavern,     Saturday and Sunday on the track, Saturday afternoon concours followed by the awards banquet at The Gallery.  This year we have the opportunity to stay at VIR's beautiful lodge,  the Villa's at the Southbend, or the track side condo's.  Registration can be done online at www.fca-se.com/cc or you may download registration forms at www.fca-nc.com.  The event fee is unchanged from 2006 at $470 per car with driver ($490 after May 1).  Additional banquet tickets are $65 and co-drivers are $150.  Call VIR directly for FCA rooms at 434-822-2680.  Questions?  Contact Ronnie Rumple at rrumple@foreigncarsitalia.com or phone 336-392-8470.

MAY 29-31st--  The 2nd Annual Ferrari Cup Challenge.  This event will be held at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC.  Sponsored by Foreign Cars Italia.  All proceeds will go to Operation Warrior Foundation.  Last year we raised $130,000 and this year we would like to raise even more.  Schedule of events--May 29th--The event kicks off with registration and check-in at the Grove Park Inn (www.groveparkinn.com).  That evening we will be holding a welcome cocktail party at the hotel.  May 30th--We start our day with a fun rally through the mountains as we head toward South Carolina, home to the BMW (facility).  Lunch will be served before we head out to the BMW test track and performance driving school.  Experienced track instructors and test drivers will be giving lessons.  Friday evening a buffet dinner and silent and live auction will be held at the Inn.  This will be a fun time with both golf and car stuff available for you to bid on.  May 31st--The morning begins with the namesake event--The Ferrari Cup Challenge Golf Tournament.  Groups will tee off in the scramble style tournament at the Grove Park golf course.  There are two par 3's where the golfer will have a shot at winning a Ferrari with a hole-in-one.  Alternate:  RALLY ON THE RIDGE  For you non-golfers another mountain rally is planned around the Ashville area.  Saturday night we will all gather for an evening romp to the near by Biltmore Estate.  All of our cars will be displayed for pictures in front of the Biltmore.  There will be a tour of the stately mansion for all.  There after cocktails and dinner will be served on the grounds just outside.  Country music entertainer Rockie Lynne and his band will perform some of his favorites after dinner.  Also after dinner the winners of the Cup Challenge golf tournament will be announced.  After the festivities we will head back to the Grove Park.  For any questions or comments please contact Ronnie Rumple at rrumple@foreigncarsitalia.com or by phone 336-392-8470.  If you contact the Grove Park Inn there is a block of rooms held for the Ferrari Club at a group rate, so be sure to let them know that you are with the Ferrari Club. 

June 7th--Foreign Cars Italia will be hosting a car show and a Ride and Drive.  FCI would like to invite the Ferrari Club to join the following clubs,  the Alfa, Mercedes, Austin Healy, Porsche, Triumph, Jaguar, Mini, and BMW.  Don't miss out on the chance to hear Bjourn Nordemo of Sports Leicht Restoration, speak on restoring classic vehicles along with one of his classic restorations.  Each club will have there own space set up and each club president will be picking a favorite car from each group.  A light lunch will be provided.  Each club member will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for tickets to the VIR Gold Cup.  The Gold Cup will be taking place on the 7th and 8th.  For those winners of the tickets who would like to go on Saturday there will be a rally to VIR following lunch.  This event will be from 9am-4p.  For any questions or comments please contact Ronnie Rumple at rrrumple@foreigncarsitalia.com or by phone 336-392-8470.

August 8-10--FCA Beach Trip!  On Friday the 8th everything kicks off at the Bentley Bed and Breakfast.  We will meet there at 11:15am, have lunch and then depart for Beaufort, NC.  The Beaufort Inn has a block of rooms reserved for FCA, be sure to let them know that you are with FCA when making your reservations.  In route to Beaufort we will have an opportunity to stop and tour the Tryon Palace in Newbern.  Dinner will be served at the Front Street Grille at Stillwater at 7PM.  Saturday--There will be a few different options for you on this day.  You may sign up to tour the Cherry Point Marine Corp Air Station.  (Space is limited for this option, please contact Ronnie Rumple for availability.)   The other options are to tour the Hatteras Yachts or to go horse back riding on the Outer Banks.  Please let Ronnie Rumple know which option you would like.  For those of you who choose to stay around the area we will be meeting for lunch at Clawson's Restaurant at 12pm.  Upon completion of the days activities, our evening will conclude with dinner at the Aqua Restaurant at 7pm.  Sunday--Everyone will depart.  We look forward to seeing everyone there.  For questions or comments please contact Ronnie Rumple at rrumple@foreigncarsitalia.com or by phone 336-392-8470
